Hamed Aslani (b. 1987, Tehran) is an Iranian filmmaker, screenwriter, and acclaimed production designer with over 17 years of professional experience in cinema, theatre, and visual arts. A graduate in directing from the Karnameh Institute, he has directed more than seven short films and written two feature-length screenplays, earning multiple awards for his work in directing, screenwriting, and design. His artistic signature blends poetic realism with socio-psychological depth, often exploring themes of silence, guilt, and intergenerational conflict. His background in production design lends his direction a powerful visual language rooted in materiality and atmosphere. As a production designer, Hamed has collaborated on several major Iranian feature films selected at top-tier international festivals including Cannes, Berlinale, Sundance, Karlovy Vary, Toronto, and Tokyo. In 2025, he was selected for Berlinale Talents in the Production Design section. He is an active member of the Iranian Short Film Association (ISFA) as well as the Production Designers Collective (PDC) — an international community of leading production designers. He has also served as a jury member at various editions of the Tehran Short Film Festival and ISFA Awards.
