Julian R. Wagner, born in Germany, began his creative journey as a photographer before pursuing design studies at Bolzano University in Italy and production design at the Filmacademy Baden-Württemberg. His feature debut, Color of the Ocean, earned him the Förderpreis Deutscher Film for outstanding artistic achievement, marking the start of his acclaimed career.
Julian's expertise in sci-fi and fantasy has led to collaborations on films like Titan – Evolve or Die and Tim Fehlbaum’s Tides, for which he received multiple awards, including the German Film Award for Best Production Design. His television work includes the apocalyptic Netflix series Tribes of Europa and the international show The Swarm, produced by Frank Doelger, executive producer of Game of Thrones. Julian recently completed work on Tim Fehlbaum’s historical feature September 5, further showcasing his skill in designing captivating, visually rich environments that bring each story to life.
