The Alexandre Trauner Art/Film Festival (ATAFF), taking place in Szolnok from 13 to 18 October 2026, will once again put production design in the spotlight, continuing a unique festival tradition that has been part of ATAFF since 2018. This year, the PDC will collaborate with the festival on a panel, bringing together production designers of three films featured in the ATAFF competition programme.

At the event, Lore Walter and Olga Gredig (Interior), Brigita Teplanová and Dorota Volfová (Nepela), and Mathilde Ferry (What Can Still Be Repaired) will talk about creating the visual worlds of their films and share insights into the behind-the-scenes work of production design.

The international production design panel will take place on 15 October at 6 pm and will be moderated by Viktor Dudás, film critic and journalist.

In addition to the panel, tickets are also available for "The Art of Storytelling and Production Design" a masterclass with Wynn Thomas at 18:00 on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Thomas’s masterclass will explore the role of production design in storytelling and how the visual world becomes a defining element of the narrative. The masterclass will offer insight into the creative considerations that guide Thomas’s approach to a story, how he transforms the world of a screenplay into an independent visual language and how production design contributes to the development of characters, period and dramaturgy.
