The Collective enables its members to exchange professional experiences, give and receive advice, discuss current issues in the field and construct a community of like-minded visual creators.

OBJECTIVES
The organization‘s objectives are: to be a hub for production design organizations around the world; to promote our profession by bringing awareness and acknowledgment of our contribution in the entertainment industry; to elevate the profession by mentoring future generations of production designers.
The Collective maintains and updates its content on this website, blog, Facebook page and a bi-monthly newsletter.
We organize seminars, panels and meetups around the world designed to connect colleagues and advance our craft.
FOUNDERS
Inbal Weinberg
Israeli-born, New-York based Inbal Weinberg received her BFA in Film from NYU‘s Tisch School of the Arts in 2003. While at school, Inbal combined her passion for fine arts and film into a concentration on production design, and since graduating has designed award-nominated films such as “Frozen River,“ "Pariah,“ “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,“ “Blue Valentine,“ “The Place Beyond The Pines,“ ”Beasts of No Nation",
“Indignation“ and "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri".
Kalina Ivanov
Kalina Ivanov is an award-winning Production Designer whose work includes the Oscar-nominated film “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Rabbit Hole, “The Conspirator,” “Smoke, “Poltergeist” and “Max,“ as well as the Golden Globe-nominated television show “Smash” (season two). She received her BFA from NYU/TSOA - Design Department and her MFA from NYU/TSOA - Film Department, graduating from both with honors. Kalina was the storyboard artist for Oscar-winning film “Silence Of The Lambs,” and from there her career expanded into visual consulting and production design, earning an Emmy Award as well as an Art Director’s Guild award for her work on Michael Sucsy’s HBO film “Grey Gardens.“
BOARD OF ADVISORS
Grant Major
Grant Major is an acclaimed production designer for feature films, TV commercials and events. He is an Oscar winner for LOTR The Return of The King (2004) and holds an honorary Doctorate of Arts and Design from Auckland University of Technology. In 2005 Grant was bestowed the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to the New Zealand Film industry and he has received numerous accolades from the international film community.
Jeannine Oppewall
Jeannine Oppewall has garnered four Academy Award nominations for Best Art Direction in her career of over thirty
years, for “L.A. Confidential,“
“Pleasantville,“ “Seabiscuit“ and “The Good Shepherd.“ Other film credits include “The Bridges of Madison County,“ “Primal Fear,“ “Catch Me If You Can“, "Snow Falling on Cedars" and “Wonder Boys.“
Thomas Walsh
Thomas Walsh served as President of the Art Directors Guild from 2003 to 2013, and is a founding co-chair of its Research Library/Archive. His film credits include “The Hand Maid's Tale“ and “The Majestic,“ while his theater work on Broadway includes “Zootsuit“ and “Children of a Lesser God.“ For TV, his credits include “Desperate Housewives,“ “Longmire“ and “Buddy Faro,“ for which he received an Emmy award.
