Based in the UK, Emer works primarily as a designer for HETV. Her recent credits include the critically acclaimed HALF MAN for HBO Max/BBC, as well as the forthcoming BBC series COUNSELS and REBUS.
Emer has worked her way through the ranks of the art department and has a strong background in art direction for film and television. Having worked with celebrated designers including Tamara Deverell, Suzie Davies, Jon Gary Steele, and Mark Tildesley, among others. Her credits include FRANKENSTEIN, UNDER THE SKIN, and OUTLANDER I–V.
Before attending film school, Emer trained in fine art, earning a degree in drawing and painting. The fundamentals of composition and colour continue to play a central role in her design work.
Emer is an advocate for working mothers in the film and television industry, and has supported women balancing motherhood with creative careers. She is also a guest tutor for the NFTS, where she has delivered short courses for new entrants to the art department.
