Caroline Amies is a British Production Designer whose career spans more than three decades across film, television, and theatre. After studying History of Art at the University of Warwick, she pursued theatre design through the English National Opera Design Course before establishing a prolific career in screen production design.
Her credits include Jim Sheridan’s In the Name of the Father, Charles Dance’s Ladies in Lavender, Liv Ullmann’s Miss Julie, Copying Beethoven, Carrington, The Secret Agent, The Land Girls, Rebecca, The Last September, Sister My Sister, Wish You Were Here, and Afraid of the Dark. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with directors including Jim Sheridan, Christopher Hampton, David Leland, and Charles Dance.
Alongside her professional practice, Amies has made a significant contribution to Production Design education. She is Head of Production Design at the National Film and Television School in the UK, where she brings her extensive industry experience to the training and development of emerging Production Designers.
