Hannes Salat was born in Vienna 1969. He is working as a production designer since 1999. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a multitude of esteemed directors, including David Schalko, Jasmila Zbanic, Veronika Franz & Severin Fiala, Johanna Moder, Daniel Hoesl, Valentin Hitz, Florian Schwarz, Barbara Eder, Christopher Schier, Ulrich Seidl, Elisabeth Scharang, Wolfgang Murnberger, Michael Kreihsl, and more. His exceptional talent in production design was lauded with the Austrian Film Prize for Best Production Design in 2016, 2017, and 2021, recognizing his remarkable contributions to films like "Good Night Momy" (directed by Veronika Franz & Severin Fiala), "Stille Reserven" (directed by Valentin Hitz), and "Quo Vadis, Aida?" (directed by Jasmila Zbanic). Since 2014 he teaches production design at two Universities in Austria, at Vienna Film Academy and at the Institute for Stage and Film Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
