Bio

I am a Mexican production designer based in Belgium, with nearly two decades of experience in scenic design both Europe and Mexico. Trained in Art Direction and Scenography at Escuela TAI in Madrid, my path in film began by taking on almost every role within the art department, building a broad and hands-on understanding of the craft.

Over time, my projects have ranged from international co-productions to debut features and intimate author films, with a strong connection to stories that weave in magic realism, spirituality, handmade artifacts and rituals.

Action props, especially those handled directly by the characters, are a particular passion, paying close attention to the personal details that shape a character’s world.

Working in the multicultural landscape of European cinema is something I deeply value and enjoy. Collaborating across different languages and regions, brings a fresh and challenging layer to my design process. I'm a proud member of the European Film Academy and this year I was nominated for an Ensor, the Flemish film awards for my production design on The Magnet Man by Gust Van den Berghe.

My recent work also includes Soft Leaves by Miwako Van Weyenberg (Rotterdam 25), Real Faces by Leni Huyghe (SXSW 25), Holly by Fien Troch (Venice 23) and The Age of Magic by Peter Krüger (in post).

Currently I've been full on launching the Belgian Film Designers Collective, a community platform for and by film professionals in Art, Costume & Make up departments across the three industries in our country: Brussels, Wallonia and Flanders.
