Bio

Jørgen Stangebye Larsen is a Norwegian production designer and PhD candidate in Artistic Research at The Norwegian Film School. His doctoral project Cyclorama of the Future explores how production design can expand into Virtual Production and In-Camera VFX, developing new methods for circular collaboration he calls Globe Building and the Audiovisual Construction Site. His latest films include Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value (winner of the Grand Prix at Cannes 2025 and Norway’s Oscar contender) and Hans Petter Moland’s Absolution, both of which used Virtual Production — Sentimental Value for historic period views and Absolution for surreal dreamscapes. Other credits include Maria Sødahl’s Hope, Moland’s Out Stealing Horses and Cold Pursuit, John Andreas Andersen’s The Quake, Eskil Vogt’s Blind, and Trier’s Oslo, August 31st. Larsen enjoys working across a wide range of films in size and genre — from intimate arthouse stories to large-scale international productions.
