Bio

Michael is a production designer and filmmaker who is recently completed the design for Peacock’s upcoming Limited Series, THE GOOD DAUGHTER. Other favorite credits include FX’s DYING FOR SEX, starring Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate, and Netflix’s international thriller HIT & RUN. Also for Netflix, Michael designed Season 1 of Natasha Lyonne and Leslye Headland’s RUSSIAN DOLL, for which he won both a Primetime Emmy and an Art Directors Guild Award for Outstanding Production Design. Starting out in the indie world in Austin, TX, Michael’s feature credits include standouts such as Andrew Bujalski’s Sundance-winning COMPUTER CHESS and Robbie Pickering’s NATURAL SELECTION, winner of the 2011 SXSW Grand Jury Prize. Michael earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, which sparked an interest in design history, travel, and sustainability. Continuing this work, in 2008, he founded PEOPLE FOR URBAN PROGRESS, an Indianapolis non-profit and urban design do-tank. PUP’s projects were featured in Dwell, The Huffington Post, CityLab, and in 2019, Michael concluded his leadership of PUP as a featured designer at the 2019 Exhibit Columbus design and architecture biennial. He splits his time between New York, Los Angeles, and Sydney, Australia.
