I’ve always drawn, I’ve been drawing since I was a child, I never stopped. I draw to get closer to people, to better contemplate the world around me.
All creative work starts with an unlined blank sheet of paper. I draw randomly, letting the line pull the ideas, the concepts. The drawing is sewing together the references, the image of the new project is being formed. The drawing is not to represent what will be built, it is to visualize the most expressive elements, the essential ones, those that give authenticity to art. I draw to contemplate what is in fact essential for the project and to communicate with the team a look, a visual and aesthetic treatment of the work.
Sempre desenhei, desenho desde criança, nunca parei. Desenho para me aproximar das pessoas, para contemplar melhor o mundo ao redor. Todo trabalho criativo começa em uma folha branca sem pauta. Vou desenhando aleatoriamente, deixando a linha puxar as ideias, os conceitos. O desenho vai costurando as referências, a imagem do novo projeto vai se formando. O desenho não é para representar o que será construído, é para visualizar os elementos mais expressivos, os imprescindíveis, os que dão autenticidade para a arte. Desenho para contemplar o que de fato é essencial para o projeto e para comunicar com a equipe um olhar, um tratamento visual e estético sobre o trabalho.
I've been flanuering around the world for over fifteen years. I draw streets, corners and monuments, these spaces that remain in our memory. I am quite meticulous about the elements that make up the place and enliven the memory, usually details such as tiles, moldings, textures and paint, regardless of their historical or cultural value.
The language through which I express my thoughts about the city is drawing. The identity of my work, the spirit of my discourse. The idea I pursue is to reveal a profile of the city. Grabbing my bike and going out to doodle is a way of coexisting and reinventing the space we inhabit.
Sou flaneur mundo afora há mais de quinze anos. Desenho as ruas, becos e monumentos, espaços esses que ficam retidos na nossa memória. Sou bastante minuciosa quanto aos elementos que compõem o lugar, elementos que aquecem a memória, geralmente detalhes como os ladrilhos, as sancas, as texturas e pinturas, não importando do objeto o seu valor histórico ou cultural.
A linguagem pela qual expresso meu pensamento sobre a cidade é o desenho, identidade do meu trabalho, espírito do meu discurso. A idéia que persigo é revelar um perfil da cidade. Pegar minha bicicleta e sair para rabiscar é uma maneira de conviver e reinventar o espaço que habitamos.
