Bio

Born in Brazil and raised in Italy, Francesca di Mottola is a UK-based production designer with a versatile and dynamic career. She began as a draftsperson on films like Cold Mountain and Sweeney Todd before landing her first production design role on Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love. Her film credits include The Ones Below and Dark Crimes, along with the TV series 1992 and 1993 by Giuseppe Gagliardi.

Francesca has also made her mark in commercials for brands such as Nike, Volkswagen, Valentino, and Gucci. In music videos, she has collaborated with artists like Paul McCartney, Robyn, and Harry Styles, and won a UK Music Video Award for Best Production Design for King Krule’s “Biscuit Town.”

She designed all three seasons of the acclaimed TV series The Great, earning an Art Directors Guild Award and an Emmy nomination for her work. Recently, Francesca collaborated with director David Lowery on his feature film Mother Mary.
