Shailaja Sharma began her storytelling journey in Bollywood nearly two decades ago, starting as an assistant and working her way up to become a production designer. Her grounded approach has provided valuable insights into storytelling, giving her hands-on experience across a range of projects. An avid student of Japanese language and culture, Shailaja’s work often reflects the aesthetic philosophies she encountered during her travels in Japan. To further refine her craft, she earned a certification in production design from the London Film School.

Shailaja has collaborated with talented directors such as Sooni Taraporevala and Reema Kagti, working on memorable films like Yeh Ballet and Gold. One of her career highlights was designing Dahaad, the first Indian series showcased at the Berlinale Series festival in 2023, for which she was nominated for a Filmfare OTT award in the Best Production Design category. Her diverse portfolio includes digital series like Inside Edge and Dahaad, as well as commercials for brands such as Cadbury and Tata Sky, where she strives to infuse creativity and authenticity into every project.
