After completing his studies at Concordia University in Montreal, Patrice begins his career designing music videos and TV commercials. He rose to prominence in 2005 with the release of the Canadian indie film C.R.A.Z.Y., directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, which garnered international critical acclaim and public attention. His collaboration with Vallée continued with Young Victoria, earning him his first Academy Award nomination. Patrice is best known for his collaboration with director Denis Villeneuve on the films Dune Part 1, for which he won an Academy Award, as well as Dune Part 2, Prisoners, Arrival and Sicario.
In 2023, Patrice ventured outside of the world of filmmaking, collaborating with architect Lotfi Sidirahal on the design of a village for Saudi Arabia for the Vision 2030 program.
